Reel Rock 19 is back for 2025, delivering a brand-new lineup of climbing stories to screens this March. Presented by Wild Earth in Australia & New Zealand, this year’s films capture the full spectrum of the climbing experience—adventure, struggle, and connection. With three epic premieres, you won’t want to miss it. Grab your tickets – here.
Death of Villains

Death of Villains takes us into the life of Kai Lightner, a former child climbing prodigy, as he tackles personal challenges, including disordered eating, on his way to an ambitious 5.15 first ascent. Partnering with Joe Kinder, a climber whose reputation is as complex as the routes he climbs, Kai’s story is one of growth and determination.
Riders on the Storm

In Riders on the Storm, Siebe Vanhee, Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll, and Nico Favresse take on Patagonia’s Torre Central. Over 18 tough days, they face snowstorms, freezing conditions, and sketchy runouts in their quest for a first ascent. It’s a story of grit and teamwork in one of the wildest corners of the climbing world.
The Cobra & The Heart

Finally, The Cobra & The Heart looks at Didier Berthod’s decades-long relationship with climbing, love, and life. From his attempts on Squamish’s Cobra Crack to moments of heartbreak and renewal, this film offers a quiet reflection on second chances and the lessons learned along the way.
