Reel Rock 20 returns to Australian and New Zealand screens this November as a part of the Reel Rock World Tour. Bringing a new collection of world-class climbing films to cinemas and community venues around the country, celebrating ambition, resilience and the relentless pursuit of the impossible.
Celebrating its twentieth edition, Reel Rock continues its tradition of sharing ambitious, human stories from across the climbing world. The 2026 program spans elite sport climbing, winter alpinism and adaptive climbing, exploring the courage, commitment and resilience behind extraordinary achievements on rock and in the mountains.
Founded in 2005 by Josh Lowell, Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen, creators of the iconic feature documentaries Valley Uprising, The Dawn Wall and The Alpinist, Reel Rock has grown into the premier global platform for award-winning climbing films.
Presented by Adventure Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand, Reel Rock welcomes audiences back with a new timing, screening in November and December. This marks the perfect major end-of-year cinema event for the climbing community. More than a night at the movies, Reel Rock is a gathering point for climbing culture. From established climbers to newcomers and outdoor enthusiasts, audiences can come together to celebrate the athletes, characters and communities continuing to move the sport forward.
Screenings will be hosted in combination with the local climbing community, creating a high-energy night of films, prizes, giveaways and connection.
The Reel Rock 20 Program
The Reel Rock 20 program follows three extraordinary climbing journeys: Michaela Kiersch’s historic quest to achieve the ultimate climbing double of 5.15 and V15, Colin Haley’s legendary winter solo push on Cerro Torre, and Ben Mayforth’s determined pursuit of 5.13 as he continues to redefine what is possible in adaptive climbing.
Michaela Kiersch
Michaela Kiersch sets out to make climbing history by becoming the first woman to complete the ultimate climbing double, sending both 5.15 and V15. Her pursuit demands extraordinary strength, precision and perseverance as she pushes the limits of performance across two of climbing’s most difficult disciplines.
Colin Haley
Elite alpinist Colin Haley lays everything on the line in a legendary winter solo push on Cerro Torre, one of Patagonia’s most iconic and unforgiving peaks. Alone in extreme conditions, Haley takes on a bold alpine challenge where speed, commitment and survival are inseparable.
Ben Mayforth
Ben Mayforth redefines adaptive climbing through an intense and resolute pursuit of 5.13. Driven by determination and an uncompromising approach to progression, Mayforth challenges expectations and expands the possibilities of adaptive climbing.
Reel Rock 20 launches worldwide from October 2026 and will screen across Australia and New Zealand throughout November and December 2026. The program has a runtime of approximately 150 minutes including interval and prize giving.
